Courage Is Fear That Said Its Prayer

I know that sometimes I’m kind of hard against people that spend a lot of time on Facebook. Why? Well, I think that any idiot can have a Facebook page. It’s free, and it’s simple. It also causes people to think that they can say anything and have no accountability. No fear of the Judgment of Almighty God. No fear of offending someone because, “That’s the way God made me.” No apology and no remorse. Finally, it gives people a false sense of accomplishment and wastes a lot of time.
That is not courage. Courage is being able to face an enemy and believe with all of your heart that you are more than a conqueror. Courage says “I can do all things through Christ which strengthens me.”

Fear will follow a billion other people hoping to fit in. Fear refuses to learn because with knowledge comes power. Fear squeezes people so tight that they will sit around doing what everybody else is doing just because everybody else is doing it. They are afraid to step out in faith and do anything different because that would mean that they are NOT afraid of being different.

In your bible you can read about when Moses sent men to spy out the land. When they got back and Moses asked them what they saw they all cried about how big and bad the people were. They were scared to step out and trust God and go into the land and conquer it like God said to do. Joshua stood up and said in no uncertain terms that God had already delivered them into their hand and that they should fight NOW (In my own words there). Joshua had courage!

Someone asked me recently if I get nervous getting up and singing in front of people. I don’t get nervous simply because I understand FEAR. I fear God and the trouble I can cause myself if I don’t do what He gifted me to do. I continually pray that God keeps me from being nervous or afraid so that I can be a blessing to my Lord and Savior Jesus Christ and His people.

Courage Is Fear That Said Its Prayer.

It’s easy to get on a social site and post a sound bite. You may encourage people? But, when all is said and done you have done NOTHING any different than some sinner who believes in positive reinforcement. You’ve patted a few people on the back and told them how good they are when we all should be preaching the good news of Salvation.

Courage refuses to be like everyone else. In fact, “I am very happy knowing that there aren’t many people like me.” I usually don’t fit in with the crowd. I don’t talk like everyone else and it’s hard for me to just flow with the crowd. So I don’t, and can’t be just like everyone else. David wasn’t like everyone else and he was courageous enough to face and kill a giant!

Courage the quality of mind or spirit that enables a person to face difficulty, danger, pain, etc., without fear; bravery.

Courage is not telling people what you think all the time. Sometimes it takes courage to hold your tongue. Courage stands up for what is right and will help protect a stranger in need to the point of sacrificing their own well-being to help another soul.

Courage makes a battle plan then executes the plan! Courage takes no thought of what those who stand by in fear think. Courage is an action-word my friend and posting on your wall is not much of an action.

While everyone around you is saying “well, I don’t know” courage says I CAN and leads the way. Even while everyone around you is throwing stones at you for what you believe is right? Courage says, “Father, forgive them for they know not what they do.”

You can throw stones at me all you want under the anonymity of Facebook? I’m used to it. You can sit around crying about why all the bad things are happening to you, or you can muster up some courage and take action.

I am certain that my Lord sent me here for a reason. You are here reading this for a reason. Do you take action or throw a stone? Will you throw a stone and call it taking action?

I have been doing what I do longer than most folks have been on Facebook. In fact, I had my domain before Facebook was. I still help Christians put their testimony on the web and I will continue doing it. Why? When God showed me Ecclesiastes 3:14 and pointed out three words, “God Doeth It” it changed the way I looked at the internet and how to use it to help HIS people.

My advice to you is, and I know it’s hard for most folks to take advice (Especially if you are a Pastor, or Evangelist) is to stop being like everyone else. Stand out by having your own domain name. Use it to share your testimony, your message, your story of what Jesus has done for you.

Have a blessed day! I really mean that too.

  1. Excellent post Rob :) I don't "flow with the crowd" myself....never have. Everything that you have said in this post is the truth. While you and I are two totally different people, we do have a common goal.....serving our Lord. By having our differences, we can reach different types of people. By accomplishing our goals, we can come together in unity. As far as Facebook, I am inclined to agree. My time actually spent there can be measured in minutes per day....and very few of those. Couldn't you just imagine Jesus' reaction to the "Facebook World"? LOL. Have a great day :)
